Project Summary:

A gentleman in mid 30s earning his livelihood by doing hand embroidery had a cerebral infarction (area of necrotic tissue in the brain resulting from a blockage or narrowing in the arteries supplying blood and oxygen to the brain) in early 2018 and is unable to work due to that. His wife who was not working earlier now has to work (as a cleaner in some houses) to compensate for managing the finances related to her husband's medical treatment, running the household and managing six kids. Four kids go to school while two of them have been picked up from school so that they can also work and help in managing the household expenses. The family has financial constraints due to low income and debt.

Beneficiary Data:

CNIC: 35401-75xxxx1-5
Date of Reg: 28 Oct 2019.

Project Objective:

To fund the medical treatment so that the gentleman is able to work again. To provide some sort of support regarding his children's education and household ration so that the family is able to pay the debt and stabilize themselves.

Project Status:

  • Sent for medical assessment. The neurologist has advised him to continue the medications as a preventive measure for life and referred him to an ophthalmologist since he cannot see from the right eye. Other than eyesight he is physically able to work.
  • The ophthalmologist has confirmed that he has optic atrophy (a condition that affects the optic nerve, which carries impulses from the eye to the brain) in the right eye. Unfortunately he would not be able to use his right eye. Left eye is normal with corrective glasses for near vision. A pair of glasses has been given to him so that he can work.
  • At the moment he is working in a school as a helper/cleaner.
