A female patient admitted in Liaqat National Hospital having infection in her gall bladder and surrounding structure is having difficulty in paying her medical bills. Only her antibiotics cost around Rs 25,000 per day (she is on high powered antibiotics because the bacteria are resistant to normal ones). At the moment, she can not be moved to another hospital because of her condition. She is advised to stay admitted until her sepsis and infection clears out which will take at least 3 weeks. She has only 1 son and 1 daughter. No husband. Son is working but doesn’t earn enough to afford this much.

No significant improvement was observed regarding her infection control. The patient has been shifted to Dow Ojha hospital. New consultant’s there are looking into her treatment plan.
